Platforms Used for Our Opening (Post Production)



 

          For our film, we used several platforms for different reasons. We used word documents, PowerPoint, and group chats to store our research and film. We communicated through social media. Lastly, we edited through voice recorder, wevideo, and our phones. Virtual platforms played a major role in our products because it lets us spread and access our information from anywhere. This was important since one of my teammates was bound to his house due to injuries.

        The different platforms are all linked to production in several ways. The draft of the film opening was laid out on word documents and PowerPoints. The layouts on the documents organized the stages of our production, it was used as a checklist for what needed to be done and what was done. Youtube and other social media platforms speed up the process of production. Without these platforms, the only time we could work on the movie was at school for one hour at a time. Social media let us discuss and plan the changes we would make the next time we met at school. It also lets us research and view other films. Lastly, the platforms that let us edit the movie were helpful in giving the movie greater impact. Edits were used in the final steps of production to smooth out the transitions and the scenes of the movie.

Genre Case Study: Film Representation: Message and audience (Preliminary Exercise)

           For section 2 of the midterm, we were tasked with answering questions about the intended messages and audience of the film. The group worked together on this part. For questions that needed research, my groupmate Nicholas who was primarily in charge of the section would, research and explain what he found. From that information, we collaborated on what we thought the best answer was and he documented it. The research gave the group a better understanding of how movie use characters and conventions to give the message to their audience

Final Product (post production)

             https://youtu.be/UvkJotit_yQ                     After months of research, analysis, and production we finally finished our intro. We decided to give the main character (Spence Spencer), narration during the intro and ending sequences. During our first edit, we looked back at comedy movies and realized many had the main character narrate while no dialogue was occurring. We decided to follow this convention. We also added a new scene at the end to better establish the narrative of the rest of the movie. Another change that was added was the makeup. In our first draft it was obvious we never put thought into the makeup so we changed that by using makeup to give Spencer the main character a black eye in the last shot.
